Organic lawn care shares methods of maintaining lawns using natural and organic methods, as well as naturally preventing lawn problems, and thereby reducing any need to treat issues such as weeds, pests and diseases

What Is Organic Lawn Care

Organic Lawn Care

Understanding Organic Lawn Care

Organic lawn care is a generic term which involves altering our lawn care practices to reduce the environmental negatives of our lawns, and instead to make our lawns positive contributors to the environment, which they naturally are designed to be.

Organic lawn care also involves the primary use of naturally derived lawn treatment and lawn care options over the more common artificially derived products.

Organic Lawn Care Practices include:
  • Replacing chemical based lawn care products with organic and naturally derived products wherever possible
  • Reducing water usage to lawns
  • Reducing fertiliser usage to lawns
  • Using natural and organic methods to treat many lawn problems
  • Naturally increasing lawn resistance to weeds pests and diseases
  • Increasing lawn health to naturally defeat any new invasions of weeds pests and diseases
  • Reducing the use of lawn mowers by reducing the lawn mowing requirements of lawns
  • Reducing other high maintenance lawn repair requirements

The point of organic lawn care is to use all of these environmentally responsible methods of lawn care first and foremost in all of our general lawn care, as well as when we are trying to control any problems with our lawns whenever they occur.

However, by their very design, most organic lawn care solutions are naturally mild in their effectiveness, and sometimes they will not control the problem we may be experiencing with our lawns.

It's in these times when we cannot control a lawn problem by natural methods, that we must turn to more effective chemical treatments to bring our lawn back to good health as a last resort.

And we shouldn't shy aware from using chemical treatments when they are necessary, because by doing so we can often bring our lawns back to good health more effectively.

And a strong healthy lawn will require far less lawn care, and will experience far less problems which may require other control treatments.

And a healthy lawn is always a major environmental champion over a sick lawn.
